At the Paris Motor Show in October 2010, Lamborghini
introduced a limited edition super sports car with a limited number of
only 7 to 10 units. This super luxury car is made of super-advanced
materials namely carbon and carbon-fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) that
can only be found at Boeing. Selection of the car name is also unique
which is in accordance with the materials used, the carbon, which in the
periodic table was ranked number six or sixth element (in Italian,
sesto elemento), so the car is super lightweight only 999 kg (2,202 lbs)
and is called The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento.
Look elegant, sophisticated, lightweight and also strong demonstrated by The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento
which is made with CFRP technology, including the monocoque passenger
cell, chassis, body, driveshaft, front frame, crash boxes, propeller
shafts, wheel rims and suspension components is the result of CFRP with
support by 2 research development facilities which are the ACRC
(Advanced Composite Research Center) and the ACSL (Advanced Composite
Structures Laboratory) and in cooperation with companies such as
aircraft maker Boeing.
Comes with a V10 engine, 5.2 liters (same engine in the Lamborghini LP
570-4 Superleggera) with a 6-speed paddle-shifted manual transmission
and all-wheel-drive system capable of producing 570 PS (419 kW).
Acceleration from 0-100 km / h only takes 2.5 seconds with a top speed
of 300 km / h (186 mph), has the power to weight ratio of 1.75 kg / PS.
There was no announcement about fuel economy but Sesto Elemento made
very light weight so obviously use less fuel than cars that are made
with heavier materials because Lamorghini had two goals in the use of
CFRP technology, fuel efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions.
The interior design looks very minimalist, you should not be surprised
if you do not find any seat frames, there is no dash top and the seat
cushions attached to the car body, there are only 3 electric buttons
which engine start, reverse gear enable and lights. The price of the super cars the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento certainly will surprise you at around $ 3.44 million or 2.5 million Euros
